Backyard transformation,
Oak Bank
We’ve been working hard on this backyard transformation project and now that it’s wrapped up we are excited to share the results with you!
Planning
We wanted to create a sustainable place that blends natural beauty with daily functionality. Therefore, we added raised vegetable beds, pollinator-friendly flowers, native plants, and plenty of space to relax and enjoy the time.
Vegetable Garden
At the heart of this backyard are three large raised garden beds, where you can now grow vegetables, herbs, and other plants. Besides looking great, these raised beds make gardening much easier on the back. These garden boxes are framed by a stone pathway with creeping ground cover planted around the stones.
Pathways and Design Details
We’ve installed stone pathways throughout the garden to provide easy access to every section. Each pathway is framed with soil beds, which are now planted with hardy, low-maintenance plants that will gradually fill in the edges.

Additionally, we installed tree stumps and built a teepee nearby which will eventually be climbed by the nearby plants.
Pollinator and Native Gardens
Surrounding the vegetable beds is a pollinator-friendly garden filled with hardy perennials and native species. This area was designed with bees, butterflies, and birds in mind, ensuring that we’re supporting local biodiversity and adding color with texture to the space.
Watering
We’ve also installed a drip irrigating system throughout the garden. We wanted to make sure there is efficient watering for all the veggies, flowers, and shrubs throughout the growing season. This system will keep all the plants fresh with minimal effort while conserving resources.
Plant Highlights
We also planted various types of flowers and plants during this project. Check out the gallery down below to take a closer look at them!
